When You Aren't at Your Best

What if the new year comes and you don’t care?

It seems like you have been derailed without hope for life to return to normal. You feel unequipped to embrace anything with excitement. Why do some people seem to step into success while others struggle just to make it through the day? What is the key?

Intentionality.

It has less to do with natural talent and everything to do with determination. It has less to do with luck and more to do with showing up. Consistency separates those who “have” from the “have nots.” The willingness to continue. Believing God has a plan.

Knowing your assignment allows you to keep going regardless of what you see. It is called faith. Believing in your purpose. Bible stories give us a glimpse into godly women of the past. Their ability to persist in the face of danger, uncertainty, and hardship. There was no yellow brick road to follow, just the weed infested, unbeaten path of the saints before them.

Decide.

Yep. Simple. Easy to say, hard to do. Your mind holds the power, not your circumstances. You make the choice to push through and show up, even when things look cloudy and dark.

How do you create an intentional year? One day at a time.

Start with forward movement. Look at the next month and craft a plan to accomplish one thing. Begin dreaming and planning. Look to the future and determine what change would make the most impact right now?

What mindset needs to be broken?

For me, this year is about being brave, bold and daring. Audacious. Right now, I feel a small flicker of something within. Not enough to make an impact, but big enough to scribble out a word. That is where I begin. One Word.

2022 holds dreams and is inviting us to join with hope. Start in the opposite spirit on what you are feeling right now. Wake up and trust God is leading you. Lean in to hear his voice. Read his words. Believe that your life matters. Then do what matters.

Pray for impact. The battle is won on your knees.

Do something today. One thing. Then tomorrow get up and do something. Repeat. When we show up, it allows God to use us. Creating an intentional life begins with an intentional thought. No matter where you are on your journey, God has not left you. He is there cheering you on. Keep moving. Keep growing. Keep impacting those around you.

Some of your best days haven’t even happened yet.
