Going ALL the Way - HALF Way
We are almost halfway through 2022. GULP!
Has it been dragging or flying by? Either way, this is a great time to evaluate if you are on track. Sure, it is expected to write goals on January 1st, but who says that is the only time you can set goals? You are in charge, (even if it feels like the little people in your life are). Take control. Now. Really.
We have over six months left to make progress. Do you know people can get more done in six months than twelve? Your finish line is closer, causing more clarity and pressure. In fact, some even say it is better to set shorter goals. Perfect. If you are a procrastinator and put off New Year’s Resolution, then this message is for you.
Take baby steps.
Plan what you want to accomplish this summer.
If you are a mom, most likely your schedule is about to change anyway. School is out. Summer is here. Evaluate your next three months. What would you like to get done? Create a summer bucket list. Places to visits, books to read, people to see. Begin by writing out 5 things you want to do this summer. Organize your house, declutter a closet, learn a new skill?
I am going to simplify my Intentional Year Course to help you get the most out of your summer. To get the complete FREE Intentional Year eCourse………….
Start with Summer
Planning your summer can be overwhelming and bring anxiety for some so they don’t even touch it. BUT I promise, you can get so much more done and enjoy it, if you just take the time to get intentional.
1-Create a word for your summer. FUN. Slow. Explore. Refresh. Growth. Travel.
Decide what you want the overall theme to be for the next three months.
2-Brainstorm all the fun ideas and/or tasks you want to get done this summer. Be creative. Invite your kids in the process. IF Hawaii isn’t in the budget, then create a Hawaiian theme day complete with music, kabobs, and fun drinks with umbrellas.
3-Open your daily planner or print off a partial calendar with June, July and August. Pencil in any scheduled events, weddings, graduations, vacations, birthdays, etc.
4-Circle your top five ideas from your brainstorming session. Pencil in which months they fit into best.
5- Live out your ideal summer.
Your personality will pull you toward outside activities or cherished home time. There is no right way. You get to determine what your family needs most right now. If you need to clear your summer, then clear it. If you need to add fun activities, get planning.
MOST IMPORTANTLY- goal setting allows you to drive your schedule instead of your calendar telling where you should be going. You are in charge. So take the challenge and get started.
Enjoy this process.
Dream. Plan. Then execute.
I have created a goal planning sheet to get you started. Embrace the opportunity. Have fun and get more done. Setting goals allows change to happen in YOUR favor.
